International Thespian Competition Fundraiser! →

Hey guys. So.. A lot of you may not know me too well.. But I am a true Theatre kid. This year at my high school, we have worked hard with two amazing production. Dog See’s God, and our Competition one-act: The Diary of Adam and Eve. I was in both of these shows, and I can tell you that these are simply life changing shows, if you have never seen either. This year, we entered our competition one-act at the States Competition, us winning first place! If you could have seen my Theatre director’s face… It was the most amazing moment. To know you have worked so hard for something for months, and it all came together to win out of 12 or 13 schools from our state… I can never truly explain the feeling. Now we are off to the International Competition in Lincoln, Nebraska. For some schools, I may even see you guys there :). It is a week stay in June, following with the best workshops any student dreaming of being in a Theatre Major (I plan on majoring in Musical Theatre… Broadway bound! :) ). I am dreaming of the acting workshops, singing, and dancing.. And not only that, we will be competing Internationally. It will be such an amazing experience.
I have met so many new amazing friends along the way in my theatre adventures.. And I can’t wait for many more!

But for now, I need to raise the money for the trip by May 1st… So if any of you guys could check out this link, you all would be the coolest bunch of blogs I’ve ever seen! <3 Haha :)

Theatre on! Wish us luck. :)

Sawdust is really just carpenter confetti.

5 tumblr posts that helped me decide my college life was theatre bound

Being onstage is just a feeling that you cannot duplicate anywhere else because the energy that the audience is giving you forces you to give more energy. It’s such an output and exchange of energy. You can’t do that anywhere else.

Because sometimes I forget why I decided to dedicate my life to theatre, and I need a reminder. So no matter what parents say, this is your dream, follow it.

someone just left the dorm complex and she was wearing a shirt that said “I’m a thespian. my parents think it’s a stage.” and I swear I laughed for three minutes without stopping to breathe

Over Pressure

In the shop today, constructing new flats with the TD.

TD: Now, this wasn’t actually intended for this….

Me: *gives him perplexed look*

TD: This is a staple gun for upholstery.

Me: Ah.

TD: But it also has no safety so when you use it be careful, because *points gun at opposite wall and shoots*

*staple hits and sticks a hardwood door 25ft away*

TD: I…should probably turn down the pressure from the compressor since I’m not using the big gun anymore.

Me: Probably.
